Swami Atmarupananda’s Visit to Dallas

Event Start Date: Thursday 23rd July, 2009
Event End Date: Sunday 26th July, 2009

Swami Atmarupananda’s Visit to Dallas
(July 23-26, 2009)

Swami Atmarupananda is a renowned scholar, teacher, and monk of the Ramakrishna Order of India. After joining the Ramakrishna Order of India in 1969, he spent seven years in India, engaged in monastic training and scholarly and spiritual pursuits.

Upon returning to the United States, Swami Atmarupananda was posted, from 1984-1997, as the resident minister of the San Diego branch of the Vedanta Society of Southern California. Later he served for seven years as the resident minister of the Vivekananda Retreat at Ridgely, New York.

Swami Atmarupananda is a teacher who combines humor and a down-to-earth practicality in conveying the subtleties of spiritual development.  Some of his writings have been translated into various European and Asian languages.  He travels widely in the United States, Canada, and Latin America, giving lectures and retreats in both English and Spanish.  For many years he has been actively engaged in working for inter-religious understanding, and is a member of the Snowmass Inter-Spiritual Dialog and an instructor of Hinduism at the Spiritual Paths Institute.  Currently he resides at the Ramakrishna Monastery in Trabuco Canyon, California.
